Trainer/coach

We are so blessed to have Terri Klein-Trierweiler Rakosky as our coach/trainer. Terri is an accomplished judge and trainer, with cards in several associations such as PtHA and NSBA, as well as several World/National titles in multiple breed shows. We especially love Terri’s humane training methods, her professionalism, her attention to detail, and her dedication to Team Athenian Lady!

Be sure to check her out if you need lessons or a judge! She travels! ;)

VETERINARIAN

Dr. Brian Garrett from the Animal Hospital of Fayetteville is by far the greatest vet in the Sandhills area, arguably even North Carolina. Dr. Garrett was the one who took a chance on Athena, performing a surgery that saved her life. Since then he has helped with her recovery, accidental injuries, and overall health. He stood by her when no other vet would and time and time again has kept Athena sound and healthy through his expertise and skill.

Dr. Garrett and his family are also very accomplished horsemen! They boast multiple World Titles in various breeds and disciplines, but also are humble and are avid rescue enthusiasts.

Farrier

Dustin Reese Farrier Services is one of the greatest farriers we have been privileged to work with. Dustin works with many of the top AQHA/APHA barns on the east coast. He is an expert on performance stock horses and keeping them healthy, starting from the ground up!

He manages to keep Athena sound, shoes on, keeps his dates, and even checks in to see how she is doing. We HIGHLY recommend him!

Amanda’s husband, Ray, has been the biggest supporter since the beginning. New to the horse world, he didn’t let fear keep him from helping out in any way he could. Ray is our professional horse holder, portable mounting block, water/food dispenser, class videographer, and any other help needed come show day. Due to his job in the military he unfortunately cannot make it to every show or event, but when he able, he works hard to make show days a breeze. His help does not stop at shows. Ray is quickly adapting to the horse owner lifestyle, mucking stalls, stacking hay, and sneaking Athena treats to bribe her to like him.
